A 3 and a half hour walk in the Brecon Beacons in superb sunny warm weather ( to try to re-establish some fitness.....). The summit of Pen y Fan, photos 6-8 (2,906')took just over an hour from the Storey Arms on the A470 - via Carn Du, photos 2-5 (2,863') on the obvious path, very busy in the fantastic weather. then on to the summit of Cribyn, photo 9 (2,608'), via a steep descent and re-ascent. Really relaxing to get out into the hills, and a surprisingly wild landscape only 2 hours from home, silent except for the songflighting Skylarks and Meadow Pipits. Here's to the 2011 Munro season !
