Corrour - Beinn na Lap, Sgor Gaibhre and Carn Dearg 20 Sept 2014

A fine sunny day with clear weather and a northerly breeze, and a train ride first to the isolated station at Corrour by Loch Ossian. First target was Beinn na Lap, a gentle pull onto the summit ridge with stunning views to Glencoe, the Mamores, Grey Corries and Ben Nevis. The cairn at 3,074' provided an amazing panorama. Dropping down to Loch Ossian gave a sunny waterside spot for lunch, then a steep pull up the slopes to the SE to the ridge and the second Munro of the day, Sgor Gaibhre at 3,133', with amazing views to Ben Alder and across to Schiehallion. Finally, on to Carn Dearg to the west, cairn at 3,087', and we then dropped down to the Loch and were back at the station with an hour to spare......the cafe was unfortunately closed! Munro total 145.

Beinn Achaladair and Beinn a'Chreachain 19 Sept 2014........the halfway point!

Half of the Munros done, 141/282.....Beinn Achaladair, 3,409', and no view!
My last Munro trip of the year with Keith, Jen and Matt, and we tackled 2 of the Munros behind Bridge of Orchy in misty conditions with little wind, that burnt off in the afternoon. First up was a gradual pull up Beinn Achaladair to the cairn (3,409') in the mist - halfway! my 141st Munro out of 282.......then on along the ridge, in shifting cloud, to the second Munro at 3,547', Beinn a'Chreachain. Quite a long day with increasingly expansive views, leaving the final Munro of the group, Beinn Mhanach, for another day. Munro total now 142.
